Pashmina
Pashmina acquired its name from "Pashm" meaning "finest of furs emanating divine warmth". Pashmina, a word that evokes images of luxury, warmth and softness is the traditional Nepali name for a very finest grade of Cashmere wool. It has been popular for centuries among royalties and other elites as the finest, most luxurious wool in the world. It is not surprising that pashmina has been successful in establishing its uniqueness among fashion wear throughout the planet.

Nestled in the lap of the world's tallest mountains, (12000 to 14000 feet above sea level) the Alpine meadows of Nepal are home to shy, unassuming Himalayan mountain goat "Chyangra"(Sp. Capra Hircus)-- as it is known to the locals.

Unlike ordinary Cashmere wool, Pashmina is the world's softest natural fiber which has delicate strand measuring 12-14 microns in thickness. Pashmina is collected in the altitudes of the Himalayas in Nepal, Tibetan Plateau and the Mongolian Deserts.
